Job Pool Could Determine Extent Of Summer Swimming In Vernon
Vernon will have swimming this summer but the exact schedule is yet to be determined.

VERNON, CT — Public swimming will be offered this summer in Vernon, but to what extent could depend on the job pool.
That was the word from Vernon Parks and Recreation Director Marty Sitler Wednesday.
"We will have swimming," he said. "It's New England and it will be summer and we will have 90-degree days.We have to have something."

And where and on what schedule could be determined by how many lifeguards the town can hire, Sitler said. Applications are open on the town website and Sitler said he is waiting for responses.
Last year, the town offered a staggered swimming schedule with the Community Pool at 375 Hartford Turnpike, Valley Falls Pond and Newhoca Beach on Bolton Lake being used.

Sitler said he will make a decision in the 2022 schedule in the coming weeks.
