Jan. 16

WILLINGTON, CT — State police said a car hit a post-and-beam fence while the driver was attempting to back down Cosgrove Road. The car traveled onto private property and hit the fence near 103 Ruby Road at 10:26 a.m., state police said.

Jan. 15

TOLLAND, CT — Alejandro Rentas, 41, of Windham, was charged with disobeying the signal of an officer, driving under the influence and failure to drive right after he was witnessed crossing the center line on Route 30 near the Vernon line at 11:41 p.m., state police said. In the same incident, Jafet Vargas, 30, was charged with possessing narcotics, state police said.

TOLLAND, CT — State police charged Mathieu Tyler, 26, with DUI, evading responsibility, driving without an ignition device and a turn violation after an incident at 2:24 a.m. on Old Post Road. He fled the scene of a crash and a police dog was used to locate hi, a report states.

Jan. 14

ELLINGTON, CT — A car hit a wire guardrail on Somers Road when the driver tried to avoid a deer, state police said. The crash took place at 5:51 a.m., state police said.
