During the holiday season we hear of people and organizations that are in need and looking for help. One stuck out this year for us called Night Angels. The organizer of the group Carrie was featured on the news one day and what she does really impacted us. She and some others voluntarily go around (after their days work and holidays) to people in need locally living on the streets, passing out donated items such as clothing, food (some nights she makes hot meals) blankets and necessity bags. As quick as she gets the items is as quick as she is out there passing these things out.(she makes the women and children priority) The necessity bags contain toiletry items such as
toothpaste, deodorant, socks, soap, etc. anything else you can think of that would fit in a gallon sized ziplock bag. These bags help give a little comfort to those in need.
My 5 yr old daughter Ella set out on a mission to make 40 bags! Her focus was on the children. She included a snack, hat, mittens, socks and her own special touch...a toy.
For some of these children this is all they will get for Christmas. Just when my kids start to complain about the this or the that they don't have I remind them of the bag they made for the kids that don't have at all!
(I did not include a pix of Carrie and the Night Angels, but for more info you can find their page on Facebook she has video footage and pix of what they do)
