Loose Soda Can Blamed For Car Hitting Boulder In Tolland
A car hit a boulder and mailbox in Tolland over the weekend.

TOLLAND, CT — A wayward vehicle crashed into a mailbox and a boulder and landed in the front yard of a Tolland home over the weekend, state police said.
The crash took place at 7:54 p.m. Saturday on Crystal Lake Road, state police said.
According to a crash report, a 2003 Honda Odyssey being driven by a 19-year-old Waterbury resident, was heading south when it ran off the road, collided first with a mailbox and then a boulder before landing on the front lawn of 185 Crystal Lake Road.

The incident left the front lawn was damaged and the driver suffered serious injuries, state police said.
A crash report said the driver was reaching for a soda can on the floor of the van right before the crash.
