Lucky Taco Officially Opens In Vernon

VERNON, CT — After a year of planning — and waiting f0r all the hiring to be done and all the materials to come in — the owners of the popular Tex-Mex Restaurant Lucky Taco have officially expanded into Vernon at a busy plaza off Route 30.

"It's official ... We have started cooking in Vernon," a Lucky Taco social media post proclaimed Thursday.

Lucky Taco was open for a private event Thursday and then open to the public on Friday. The liquor license had yet to be secured by Friday, but the grill was jumping. Customers were being encouraged to check the Lucky Taco Facebook page about hours and dine-in and takeout directions.

David and Erin Emmons first announced they were moving into Vernon last November at the old Nature's Grocer location at the plaza at 81 East St., also at the intersection of routes 30 and 31.

Lucky Taco's Manchester restaurant is located at 829 Main St., on the corner of Main Street and Purnell Place.

According to its profile, "Lucky Taco is a sweet Main Street spot serving unique and flavorful gourmet tacos. Chef David Emmons blends the idea of the traditional Tex-Mex taco into a fresh and delicious creation."
