M&T Bank Branch In Vernon Remains On Schedule To Close Next Month

VERNON, CT — The Rockville Stop & Shop branch of M&T Bank remains on schedule to close in the middle of April.

Signs have ben prominently displayed with the April 16 closing date.

Officials at M&T Bank in January confirmed the springtime closings of not only a Stop & Shop supermarket branch in Vernon, but many others.

Here is the list, sent to Patch by M&T Bank officials:

Proposed April 16 closings:

• Hamden Stop & Shop, 2331 Dixwell Ave.
• The Dock Stop & Shop, 200 East Main St., Stratford
• Simsbury Stop & Shop 489 Bushy Hill Road
• Rockville Stop & Shop, 50 Windsorville Road, Vernon

Proposed April 30 closings:

• Milford Stop & Shop, 1364 East Town Road
• Wilton Center Stop & Shop, 5 River Road, Wilton
• Brookside Stop & Shop, 4531 Main St., Bridgeport
• Greens Farms Stop & Shop, 1790 Post Road East, Westport

The Waterbury Stop & Shop Branch at 410 Reidville Drive and the Torrington Stop & Shop at 931 Torringford Street will be impacted but M&T has leases for new branch locations in both Waterbury and Torrington, Bank officials said.
