VERNON, CT — A man is accused of threatening people with a gun during an argument outside a Vernon funeral home, a police report indicates.
The incident took place at 4:12 p.m. On Thursday, according to a report.
Vernon police were initially called to the Burke-Fortin Funeral Home at 76 Prospect St. to investigate "a strong odor of natural gas coming from the building."

While in the rear parking lot of the building, an officer was approached by a woman who said a fight had broken out in front of the funeral home, a report indicates. Edward Sullivan, 48, whose listed address is just down the hill on Union Street, is accused of taking out a gun and threatening those involved in the argument, according to a report.
A service was taking place that afternoon at the funeral home, police said.

Sullivan was taken into custody charged with first-degree threatening and second-degree breach of peace. He was held overnight on a $100,000 bond and was to appear in court Friday, police said.
No injuries were reported because of the gas situation.
