Man Accused of Throwing Dog Food at Woman During Vernon Domestic Incident
He is also accused of throwing other items inside a Vernon home.

VERNON, CT — A man has been arrested in a domestic violence case out of Vernon for throwing dog food at a woman, among other items in a local house, police records indicate.
At 3:20 Thursday afternoon, police were called to 77 High Street for a disorderly incident, according to an arrest report. Police noticed there were clothes and dog food on the floor, according to an arrest report.
James Branon, 43, of that address, was taken into custody and charged with second-degree breach of peace, according to an arrest report.

Branon is accused of threatening to break a woman's neck during the course of a domestic altercation and he then began throwing her clothes and whipped a container of dog food at her, according to an arrest report.
He did not exclude human meals, police said. Branon is also accused of throwing both a dining room table and a coffee table in the house during the disturbance, according to an arrest report.

Branon failed to post a $500 bond and was held overnight while awaiting a Friday court appearance, police said.
