Man Arrested on Drug Charges Outside Vernon Restaurant

The call began as someone potentially being run over, police said.

VERNON, CT — What began as a call about someone potentially getting run over in a restaurant parking lot wound up being three drug charges levied against a Stratford man, Vernon police said.

Joshua Britt, 22, of Stratford, was arrested on May 8 on charges that include narcotics possession, possession with intent to sell narcotics and possession with intent to sell cocaine, according to an arrest report.

At 2:47 p.m. that day, Vernon police received a call about someone trying to run over another person, who was on foot in the Denny's parking lot at the Tri-City Plaza.

Britt was found a short distance away on foot and drugs were found on him, according to an arrest report.

He is due in Rockville Superior Court on May 22, according to an arrest report.
