Man Burned By Outdoor Fire In Vernon
A man was airlifted to a state burn unit after an incident in Vernon Saturday.

VERNON, CT — A man was burned by an outdoor fire in Vernon over the weekend, authorities said.
The call came in Saturday at 3:10 p.m. When police and firefighters arrived at 38 East St., they encountered a 15-by-15-foot outdoor fire and a man in his 40s nearby suffering from several burns, according to both police and fire reports.
Police said the man had sustained burns down the front and inside of both of his legs and also had burns on his arms and hands.

A Vernon emergency medical crew transported the man to nearby Northeast school, where Life Star Helicopter was waiting.
He was transported t the b urn center at Bridgeport hospital, police said.

He was alert during the incident, police said.
The fire department extinguished the blaze.
