Man Charged for Threatening to Drive off Vernon Highway Bridge
The incident took place during a domestic squabble, police said.

VERNON, CT — A man threatened to spin a car off a highway overpass during on on-board domestic squabble and was charged with breach of peace as a result, police said.
The incident involving a 34-year-old Elizabeth, NJ man took place on Oct. 28, police said. His girlfriend said she was going to pull the car into a parking lot to let him out when he pulled on the steering wheel and threatened to drove off an overpass, police said.
She was eventually able to stop the car near Dart Hill Road, but he took the key while exiting.
