Man Charged In Vernon After Sending 'Revenge' Images: Warrant
A man has been charged in Vernon for allegedly distributing 'revenge' images.

VERNON, CT — A man has been charged in Vernon with five criminal charges for allegedly sending compromising pictures of a woman to family members, friends and even a child as revenge for a fizzled relationship, a warrant states.
Michael Ranney, 31, posted a $20,000 bond in the case and is due in court on March 27, judicial system records indicate. He has been charged with the illegal dissemination of an intimate image, second-degree harassment, second-degree threatening, second-degree breach of peace and conspirary to commit risk of injury to a child, according to a warrant.
The case dates back to July, when Ranney demanded to know if the woman was in a new relationship, according to a warrant. He sent "30-something" text messages one night and then sent the images to the woman's grandmother, a friend of hers, and Facebook friends, among others, according to a warrant. The woman's child received a similar message, but handed the phone to the woman before looking at it, according to a warrant.

After 100 or so messages and calls, the woman called police, according to a warrant.
He also threatened the woman with physical harm, according to a warrant.
