Man Found Dead At Park In Vernon

A man was found unresponsive and later declared dead at a park in Vernon.

VERNON, CT — A man was found dead in a small park in Vernon Wednesday, police said.

At 11:12 a.m., the Vernon Police Department, along with Vernon EMS, responded to the Saxony Park, 66 West Street for a medical assist complaint.

Responders then found an unresponsive man in the park, police said.

Attempts to revive hm were not successful and he was pronounced deceased on scene.

No obvious signs of foul play were present and there is no danger to the public, authorities said.

Saxony Park is a small passive recreation parcel that sits next to the Hockanum River. It features benches and picnic table.

The case remains under investigation by the Vernon Police Department. Anyone with
