Man Out on Bond Brawls at Vernon Hotel, Changes Rooms to Lockup: Police

He was charged with two counts of violating conditions of his release, police said.

VERNON, CT — Police checked a man out of a local hotel on Tuesday and checked him into the lockup after a brawl, a police report indicates.

Officers were dispatched to the Days Inn, 451 Hartford Turnpike, at 10:28 p.m. on Tuesday for a reported assault. Karl Todd, 51, who is listed as living at the hotel, was charged with second-degree breach of peace and third-degree assault for reportedly choking and fighting with someone inside the hotel.

Todd is out on bond for two current cases, police said, and he was charged with two counts of violation conditions of release.

A Karl Todd with the same birth year is listed on the judicial system website as being out on $10,000 and a promise to appear for two instances of violating a protective order. According to court records, he is now being held on a $75,000 bond and is due in court for the Vernon incident on Nov. 15.
