Man With Painted Fingernails Passing Fake Bills In Vernon: Report

State police are looking for a man with a manicure in a counterfeit case.

VERNON, CT — State police are looking for a man who seems to have a fancy for both a manicure and passing counterfeit bills.

According to a report, the spree began at the Dunkin' Donuts in Ellington and continued to a Dunkin' and a Shell gas station in Vernon.

State police released the details of the Ellington incident.

According to a report, on July 23, a "skinny" black man with short hair was in the rear seat of a tan sedan, possibly an older Ford Taurus, that made its way into the Ellington Dunkin' drive-through. He completed a purchase with a $20 counterfeit bill and a clerk noticed the fingernails on his right hand were painted white, the report continued.

The driver is being described as a white man with brown hair, according to a report. A white woman wearing glasses was in the front passener's seat and in the other rear seat was a man for which state police have no description.

The group used $20 bills at the Vernon locations as well, state police said.
