Man With Rifle Robs Vernon Store

VERNON, CT — Vernon Police on Tuesday were looking for a man in a hoodie who held up a store on Route 30 the night before.

At 9:54 p.m., Monday, a man, armed with a rifle, robbed the Dollar General store on Route 30, police said. The local address of the Dollar General is 1188 Hartford Turnpike.

Police responded to the scene, collected evidence, then released a surveillance image of the bandit.

Police are asking anyone who might recognize him to call the Vernon Police Detective Division at 860-872-9126 ext 3887 or dial 0 for the dispatcher.

Police did not detail what was taken from the store.
