Man Seemingly Showing off in Lamborghini Charged in Vernon: Warrant

A Tolland man allegedly went for a joyride in a Lamborghini with a radio personality at a grand opening, a warrant shows.

VERNON, CT — A man apparently showing off for a local radio personality has been charged for driving a Lamborghini 100 miles per hour on Route 83 during a car dealership's grand opening party.

Police said Jason Napoletano, of Tolland, surrendered at Vernon headquarters on Tuesday to answer to a reckless driving charge. He is due in court on Sept. 25, police said.

The grand opening ceremony for Prestige Auto Cars at 32 Hartford Turnpike took place on Aug. 19 and Radio 104 was on-hand, according to an arrest warrant. Napoletano apparently negotiated a ride with radio personality Amy Grey in a green 2015 Lamborghini Huracan, which is listed with the dealership. The car's listing on the Prestige website can be viewed here.

As Grey took a cell phone video, the car accelerates up Route 83. The video was posted on the Radio 104 Facebook page but has since been taken down. Napoletano was overheard saying he was doing "about a hundred" in the video, according to an arrest warrant.

He gave conflicting accounts of how fast he was going on a road that usually has its share of traffic on a Saturday, but police reconstructed the speed off the video at about 100, according to an arrest warrant.
