Man Sells Drugs To Undercover Task Force Cops In Vernon: Report

An undercover operation nabbed a suspected fentanyl and crack dealer in Vernon.

VERNON, CT — A man who sold high-potency drugs to undercover officers in Vernon is now facing charges, a report indicates.

The case of Tyren Sheppard dates back to Nov. 7, when the East Central Narcotics Task Force conducted a buy-bust operation in Vernon after recieving a tip that the 29-year-old Sheppard has been selling heroin/fentanyl and crack cocaine in the Rockville section of Vernon.

Tyren Sheppard had already sold fentanyl to an undercover officer on three different occasions and the ECNTF held three active arrest warrants for him, according to a report.

Sheppard was taken into custody on Orchard Street with a bag of crack cocaine in his hand, a report says.

  • Possession of narcotics
  • Sale of narcotics
  • Possession of narcotics within 1,500 feet of a school or daycare
  • Sale of narcotics within 1,500 feet of a school or daycare

Tyren Sheppard appeared in court and could not post a $50,000 bond, despite it being reduced from an initial $300,000, records show. He is due back in court on Dec. 6, records show.
