Man Threatens to 'Blow Up' Vernon Tenement
A man is facing charges for threatening to blow up an apartment house in Vernon.

VERNON, CT — A Vernon man was charged with threatening to blow up a local apartment house in a incident earlier this week, police said.
Police received a call about the odor of gas on the first floor and a "suspicious situation" at 59 Ward St. at 7:39 p.m. on Dec. 18, according to an arrest report.
The found Samuel Plourde, 56, who lives in the tenement, walking around in the driveway, according to an arrest report. Residents told police he had threatened to "blow the residence up" if police were called to the scene, according to an arrest report. He was yelling at a neighbor and not listening to police, according to an arrest report.
