Man Tracked Down, Charged For Christmas Eve Violence in Vernon: Police

A warrant had been issued for his arrest, police said.

VERNON, CT — A Vernon man was arrested on a warrant for allegedly beating up and sending a woman to the hospital 19 minutes before midnight on Christmas Eve, police said.

William Patten, 43, of 21 Maples St., was arrested on Friday and was to appear in Rockville Superior Court on Tuesday, police said. He was charged with first-degree unlawful restraint, second-degree assault, second-degree breach of peace and second-degree threatening, according to an arrest report.

Police said they were called to Rockville General Hospital on Christmas Eve to see a woman who had a cut forehead that requited stitches and a scratched-up face.

The incident was traced to Patten and a warrant was issued for his arrest, police said. He was located at a business on Brooklyn Street on Friday, police said.
