VERNON, CT — A New York City man was slapped with nine criminal charges after trying to purchase a recreational motorcycle from a Vernon dearship with a phony credit card, police said.

Barron Von Dandridge, 25, of the Hollis section of Queens, was arrested on Sept. 4. He is accused of creating a fake credit card account in his own name while ordering a dirt bike over the phone, police said.

When Dandridge came to Scranton Powersports in Vernon to retrieve the bike, he claimed he was merely picking an item up that had been paid for, according to a report. He failed to produce the card when asked, according to a report.
