Manchester Man Fails To Post $5 Million Bond In Vernon Murder Case
A man charged with the murder of a 22-year-old Vernon woman remained in custody Wednesday.

VERNON, CT — A judge in Rockville Superior Court Tuesday maintained the $5 million bond placed on a 23-year-old Manchester resident charged with murder in connection with a 22-year-old woman's death at a Vernon apartment complex.
Abdul Mboob remained in custody Wednesday morning following his arraignment after failing to post the bond, judicial system records show. Mboob is due back in court on Aug. 11, records show.
In addition to murder, Mboob was additionally charged with evidence tampering, first-degree strangulation, interfering with an investigation, issuing a false statement and risk of injury to a child.

At 12:07 p.m., Vernon police responded to the Ledgecrest apartment complex at 79 Brooklyn St. after receiving several calls regarding a welfare check. Upon arrival, they discovered the body of a woman inside an apartment. She was identified by Vernon police as Anastasia Paul, who lived at the apartment.
