VERNON, CT — More than three dozen police officers including members of Vernon Police Department's SWAT Team descended upon the Park West Apartment Complex on West Street around 5:30 p.m. Friday, confirmed Police Lt. William Meier.

One male was taken into custody and police say the scene is under control as of 6:20 p.m. No other details have been released as of yet. Armored trucks and cops in full riot gear can be seen, reports Patch Editor Tim Jensen, who is at the scene.
