Mechanical Issues Keep Historic CT Ferry At The Dock Wednesday

GLASTONBURY/ROCKY HILL, CT — The Glastonbury-to-Rocky Hill ferry on the Connecticut River was docked Wednesday afternoon because of mech maniacal issues, officials from the state Department of Transportation said.

The ferry will be closed until further notice, DOT officials said in a 1:43 p.m. announcement.

The Rocky Hill-Glastonbury Ferry is the oldest continuously operating ferry in America which began service in 1655. The ferry generally operates weekdays from 7 a.m. to 6:45 p.m. and weekends from 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
