Mexican Eatery Owners Announce Intended Move From Manchester To Vernon
No plans are on the books yet in Vernon, but a Mexican restaurant seems to be eyeing the site of a former Mexican restaurant in town.

VERNON, CT — The owners of a Mexican restaurant that closed after the holiday weekend have announced intentions to move to the location of another recently closed Mexican restaurant in Vernon.
As of Thursday afternoon, no formal plans had been filed by Mexico Lindo in Vernon for the former Lucky Taco location at 81 East St. On social media on May 30 and 31, however, its owners have announced that the 697 Main Street location is closed and that it will relocate to Vernon.
Said the Facebook post, "We are moving to 81 East St Vernon Rockville, CT 06066 ... We thank you sincerely for your business since 2017 at our Manchester location. Effective immediately, the Manchester location is closed and we will announce the grand opening for Vernon soon."

Ironically, Lucky Taco and Mexico Lindo were both located on Main Street in Manchester. In mid-March, the Lucky Taco owners said their Manchester restaurant was closing and the Vernon location was staying. Then, in early May, it was announced that the Vernon Lucky Taco was also closing.
Attempts to reach Mexico Lindo ownership were unsuccessful Thursday.

Since its a conforming use, Mexico Lindo would not have to go through the time-consuming site plan approval process to make the move to Vernon, Vernon Economic Development Director Shaun Gately said. Permits would only be needed for things like liquor and signage, he added.
