Middle Bolton Lake Scheduled For Herbicide Application

VERNON, CT — Middle Bolton Lake is scheduled for a herbicide application next week.

The use of the herbicides flumioxazin and diquat is common each year to combat invasive plants in the lake, Parks and Recreation Director Marty Sitler said.

The application is slated for Sept. 13.

According to the permit, residents will need to refrain from certain used until key dates. Here they are:

• Drinking (pets included) and cooking - Sept. 17
• Boating, fishing and swimming - Sept. 14
• Watering of livestock - Sept. 14
• Irrigation - Sept. 19
