Missing Plate in Vernon Turns Into Drug Charges
A missing registration plate in Vernon turned into a drug arrest, police said.

VERNON, CT — A missing license plate in Vernon turned into the arrest of a Hartford man on drug-related charges, police said.
The car with the missing front plate, a white, 2008 Infiniti G35, was spotted in the area of Hartford Turnpike and Grove Street at 2:26 a.m. Friday, according to an arrest report. It was pulled over at High Cherry streets, according to a report.
The driver, identified as 25-year-old Xavier Abner, of Hartford, was found with less than a half-ounce of marijuana, three cellphones, small plastic bags, $650 in cash and a digital scale, according to an arrest report.

Abner, who was driving while under suspension, was charged with marijuana possession and possession with the intent to sell, according to a report. He posted a $1,000 bond and is due in court on Oct. 9, records show.
