VERNON, CT — A motorcyclist was killed in a four -vehicle crash on Prospect Street in Vernon Tuesday afternoon.

The crash took place at 2:48 in one of the busiest areas of the Rockville section of town.

Three sedan-type cars and a motorcycle were involved, police said. The 25-year-old motorcyclist was killed, and police were not releasing his name early Tuesday evening.

Police said some of the others involved suffered minor injuries.

Prospect Street, between Elm Street and Thompson Street, was expected to be back open to traffic at about 6:30 p.m.

One of those involved fled the scene and police said they were still searching for the person at 6 p.m.

The exact cause of the accident was still being investigated Tuesday evening.
