NCCC Unified Sports Basketball Tourney Showcases Fun, Teamwork
Rockville High School hosted the 2022 NCCC Unified Basketball Tournament with Ellington, Windsor Locks and East Windsor also participating.
VERNON, CT — Rockville High School hosted the 2022 NCCC Unified Sports Basketball Tournament Thursday, which was back after a coronavirus hiatus in 2021.
Participating teams were the host Rams, along with Windsor Locks High School, Ellington High School and East Windsor High School.
Unified Sports, according to the Special Olympics, joins people with and without intellectual disabilities on the same team. It was inspired by the principle that training together and playing together is a quick path to friendship and understanding. In Unified Sports, teams are made up of people of similar age and ability.
