New Assistant Principal Begins Tenure At Rockville High School
A new assistant principal started her position at RHS this week.

VERNON, CT — A new assistant principal at Rockville High School has begun her tenure.
The Vernon Board of Education recently approved Kate Howard-Bender to the position at RHS, and she started Monday, Vernon Superintendent of Schools Joseph Macary said.
Howard-Bender had been an assistant principal at the Capital Region Education Council's Civic Leadership High School in Enfield, CT for the past seven years.

Prior to that, she had been a middle and high school English teacher for 17 years.
Howard-Bender has an extensive experience with School Improvement Planning, Equity Committee, and NEASC Accreditation.

Howard-Bender received her sixth-year degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Connecticut, her master's degree in Reading and Language Arts from Central Connecticut State University and her bachelor’s degree from Siena College.
She lives in Tolland.
