New Class Of CT Judges, Magistrates Has Vernon Connection

A Tuesday ceremony for new judges had a local tie.

VERNON, CT — Gov. Ned Lamont Tuesday swore in the newest class of Superior Court judges and family support magistrates and the ceremony had a Vernon connection.

Sworn in as a family support magistrate was Charlene Spencer, 58, of Vernon.

Spencer earned her law degree from the Western New England University School of Law.

She was an assistant attorney general in the Employment Rights Section, and defended Connection in employment discrimination matters in federal and state courts, and before the Commission of Human Rights and Opportunities. She has worked in the Office of the Attorney General in various roles for 32 years.
