New Coffee Shop Sign Emerges In Vernon Shopping Plaza

VERNON, CT — A new coffee shop has appeared on the Vernon business landscape.

A sign recently went up for Vernon Coffee Roasters at the Vernon Commons shopping plaza, 520 Hartford Turnpike.

Vernon Economic Development Coordinator Shaun Gately said the business is in the process of securing the necessary local permits and no opening date has been announced. Work has been going on inside the storefront shop.

Vernon Coffee Roasters will join an already competitive coffee market in town.

Kevin's Coffee Roasters is located on Route 83, along with three Dunkin' Donuts locations. Another two Dunkin' shops are located on Route 30. Cumberland Farms has locations on Route 30 and on Route 83 and Starbucks has a single location on Route 83. Between Rounds is in a plaza at Vernon Circle. McDonald's and Burger King also serve up morning beverages at two locations along with establishments like the Vernon Diner and Mitchell's on Route 30.
