New Haven Police Submit DNA in Vernon Unidentified Body Case

Police obtained and submitted the DNA from the mother of Evelyn Ann Frisco, who has been missing for more than 10 years.

The New Haven Police Department has obtained DNA from the mother of New Haven missing person Evelyn Ann Frisco in order to compare it to the DNA from the unidentified body found in Vernon last year, the New Haven Register reports.

Frisco was last seen more than 10 years ago, according to New Haven police.

Frisco’s mother Janet Frisco said her granddaughter contacted her and said the recently released sketch resembled Evelyn Ann Frisco around the eyes, according to the Register.

New Haven police have another case that could potentially be related to the unidentified body, said New Haven Officer David Hartman, police spokesman. DNA has also been taken from a relative of that missing person.

“The cases, thus far have no forensic or evidentiary ties to the Vernon discovery other than the women who went missing were about the suspected age of the person who’s remains were discovered,” Hartman said.

The process underway is a common investigative tool, he said.

“We are eagerly awaiting the results of the DNA comparison,” he said.

A total of 15 people have been ruled out as being the decedent body, according to the National Missing and Unidentified Persons System website. The website lists the potential of making positive identification as “medium-high.”
