New Restaurant Replaces Old Bakery in Vernon

A new restaurant has replaced an old bakery in the Rockville section of Vernon.

VERNON, CT — A new restaurant has opened in the Rockville section of Vernon.

Bianna's Pizza-Fast Food officially opened on Monday at the site of an old bakery at 36 Ward St. Owner Peter Macci came to the United States a couple of years ago from Scicily and said it has been his "dream" to open his own restaurant. He was most recently a manager at a Friendly's in Cromwell.

Macci said he's a "pizza guy," so Bianna's features both traditional and gourmet toppings on its Pizzas.

The menu features a large variety of salads and burgers and the specials include fried clams, both whole and strips.

The restaurant opens at 11 .m. daily and serves until 10 p.m. Monday through Thursday; to midnight on Friday and Saturday; and until 9 p.m. on Sunday.
