New School Year Starts With New Resource Officer In Vernon
Vernon's new school resource officer already has plenty of experience in an educational environment.

VERNON, CT — School started in Vernon Thursday for the 2024-25 academic year and with it comes a new school resource officer.
And Officer Cara Momnie brings a lot of campus experience to Rockville High School and the town's other schools.
Momnie has been with the Vernon Police Department since 2020. Prior to that, she was with the UConn Police Department for five years.

"Safe to say she has some experience working around a learning environment," police said.
She has already made her presence felt at RHS. For example, at last week's freshman orientation and welcome event, she was happily greeting and mingling students both nervous and confident and said she enjoys working in a school system.
