New Steps to RHS Soccer Field Donated by Knight Golf Tourney

As the high school season gets under way today, the main soccer field at has a new feature.

Last month, a new stairway to the soccer field was dedicated to the memory of a 1997 RHS graduate.

The funding for the staircase was raised through a memorial golf tournament that is conducted each year by friends of Ross T. Knight, a former Vernon resident who died in a snowmobile accident 10 years ago.

Funds from the tournament have been used each year to provide a scholarship to a Rockville High School student. This year, more than $20,000 was donated to the American Cancer Society as part of this memorial as well.
