New Vernon School Resource Officer Starts Tenure In Unique Year

VERNON, CT — Rockville High School's new school resource officer has certainly begun his tenure in unique times.

But there was Officer Greg St. Pierre last week directing perplexed parents here and there during the start of school and at dismissal times with a smile on his face.

He has an Instagram page for parents and students and Vernon residents in general to follow his travels:

The 2020-21 academic year began last week under a hybrid format with students attending classes in staggered groups on Mondays and Tuesdays and Thursdays and Fridays. Wednesdays are all virtual days and about 20 percent of students systemwide are attending five days of virtual classes amid the coronavirus pandemic.
