IT Security Investgation Affects Vernon Schools, Departments
Schools and municipal departments in Vernon had no internet access or e-mail on Monday amid a security investigation.

VERNON, CT — Schools and municipal offices in Vernon had no internet access or e-mail capabilities on Monday while town officials looked into a potential security breach.
Parents were alerted via text and phone messages Sunday evening. A police spokesman on Monday said no personal information was stolen or "misused."
According to the messages, local officials discovered what was termed "a potential for unauthorized access to our network" on Saturday and temporarily disabled the email and internet access as a pecaution.

On Monday, classes were taking place, just without computers, the police spokesman said.
Internal communication was still taking place Monday amoung town departments, a police spokesman said.
