Officers Sworn In, Begin Field Training in Vernon

VERNON, CT — Two new Vernon police officers were recently sworn in while two others began field training.

Officers Allison Rand and Christopher Toce, who graduated from the Connecticut Police Academy on Wednesday, began field training this week.

Alexander Gialelis and Jonathan Snyder were sworn in this week.

Gialas, 23, was most recently employed by the state Department of Transportation. He has a degree from the University of New Haven that includes course work in national security, criminal justice and computer forensics, He speaks English, Italian, Arabic, Greek and Russian.

Snyder, 24, had been a security officer at Rocky Hill High School. He has a degree from Central Connecticut State University.
