Old Muffler Shop In Vernon Could Become New Home To Auto Parts Store
A longtime business fixture on Route 83 in Vernon wants to move down the road.

VERNON, CT — A longtime business fixture on Route 83 in Vernon wants to move two doors down.
An application has been submitted for 67 Windsor Ave. — the old Midas Muffler shop building — to convert it into a retail auto parts establishment. The applicant is Alter & Pearson LLC.
A vacant lot behind the property would be merged into 67 Windsor Ave as part of the plans.

If approved, the existing NAPA Auto Parts store would move two parcels down and occupy the new building Vernon Director of Development Services and Economic Development Shaun Gately said. NAPA has been at 59 Windsor Ave. for a number of years.
The Vernon Planning and Zoning commission will get its first officials look at the plans Thursday at a meeting scheduled for 7:30 p.m. at Town Hall.
