One Car Hits Another Head-On, Then Slams into Amerbelle Mill: Police
The driver is due in court next week, police said.

VERNON, CT — A man is due in court on Tuesday to explain how his car slammed into the Amerbelle Mill complex after hitting another car head-on last week.
Michael Cleve Griffin, 45, who police said in a report has no certain address but frequents Vernon, was charged with driving under the influence and evading responsibility, among other motor vehicle violations for the Dec. 23 incident.
The crash took place at 4:51 p.m., police said. Griffin was driving a 1997 Dodge Avenger that first hit a stopped car head-in at the intersection of East Main and Grove streets and then hit the Amerbelle complex, according to an arrest report.

Griffin then fled the scene and witnesses provided enough information to track him down, police said.
