Pair Busted For PCP Possession After Vernon Traffic Stop
Two people were snagged with a sizable stash of hallucinogens after a traffic stop in Vernon on Thursday.

VERNON, CT — Two people were snagged with a sizable stash of hallucinogens after a traffic stop in Vernon on Thursday.
It was 3:35 in the afternoon when an officer on patrol pulled over a red Toyota Camry for a lane violation on East Main Street near Snipsic Street, according to a report.
The officer then found a "large amount" of the drug PCP in the vehicle, a report indicates. It was in two forms — liquid and a "leafy soaked substance," a report indicates.

The driver, identified as Javon Alston, 41, of East Hartford, was charged with possession of a hallucinogen, possessing drugs near a school, the use of drug paraphernalia and a lane violation, according to a report.
The passenger, 38-year-old Josmary Rodriguez, of New Britain, was charged with the same three drug crimes, according to a report.

Both were held overnight on separate $100,000 bonds and were to appear in court Friday, police said.
