Pair Charged After Fight With Pellet Gun On Lawn Of Vernon Home
Two men were arrested after a brouhaha in Vernon Sunday.

VERNON, CT — Two men were arrested Sunday after an altercation at a Vernon residence, and one of them was charged twice, police reports indicate.
The scuffle was on the lawn of a residence on Ward Street, police said.
At 10:44 a.m., police responded to an active fight on the lawn of the home after receiving a call from a neighbor, according to an arrest report. One man, Shaun Savage, who goes by the street name off "Savvy," ran into the home when police arrived, according to an arrest report. The second combatant, identified as Michael Poreda, dropped co2 cartridges from what police termed "a realistic looking"pellet gun when he saw police and was bleeding heavily from facial injuries, according to an arrest report. They confiscated the gun, according to a report.

Poreda told police he had wrestled the pellet gun away from "Savvy," after Savage had hit him in the face with it repeatedly, according to an arrest report.
Savage was found hiding in the basement of the home, according to an arrest report.

The fight broke out during a dispute over a ring, police said. Several witnesses saw the fight, police added.
Savage was charged with second-degree assault, first-degree reckless endangerment, carrying a dangerous weapon and interfering, according to an arrest report. He was initially held on a $50,000 bond, but another $25,000 was added to the tally after police discovered an active warrant on him for probation violation. He was to appear in court Monday.
Poreda was issued a summons for their-degree assault and second-degree breach of peace and is scheduled to appear in court on Dec. 21.
