Drivers were charged after respective drunken driving arrests in the middle of a busy road and a busy parking lot in Vernon.

VERNON, CT — Two people are due in court on Feb. 19 after respective drunken driving arrests in the middle of a busy road and a busy parking lot in Vernon.
Reports on the incidents were released Wednesday.
At 12:55 a.m. on Feb. 10, Vernon officers went to the 7-Eleven at 903 Turnpike for a medical issue. Police were told man was passed out in a Nissan sedan in the parking lot, according to a report. The operator, identified as 22-year-old Devin Bishop, of Manchester was sitting in the driver's seat with the engine running, according to a report.

He failed sobriety tests, police said.
Police also found "numerous" Xanax pills on him, for which he had no prescription, according to a report.

He was charged with possessing a controlled substance and driving under the influence, according to a report.
At 5:01 a.m. on Feb. 6, police found a car parked in the southbound lane of state route 83, according to a report. It was near 623 Talcottville Road, the local name for that stretch of Route 83.
The driver, identified as 31-year-old Linda Tran, of Vernon, was charged with driving under the influence, according to a report.
