With Permits In Place, New African Restaurant Set To Open In Vernon

A new player on Vernon's international restaurant roster is set to get in the game.

VERNON, CT — With the necessary local regulatory permits in place, a new African restaurant is set to open in the Vernon Circle area.

The sign was in place Thursday.

Vernon Director of Development Services Shaun Gately said both the building and health departments signed off on the necessary paperwork Wednesday, paving the way for the restaurant to open.

Workers were busy Thursday with the finishing touches.

The restaurant is located at the Route 83-Route 30 fork, in the plaza that also houses a hair salon and the D'Angelo sandwich shop.

Gately said the concept of the African restaurant was in place for about two years and finally came to fruition.
