Picture Vernon: In The Beginning, There Was Just A Circle

The latest installment of the Picture Vernon Series.

VERNON, CT — The latest installment of the Picture Vernon series takes us back to 1935, when Vernon Circle had just been built.

The featured image is on display at the Vernon Historical Society. It shows the only building present at the time was the Vernon Hotel.

The Tri-City Plaza opened in 1963 and, when Interstate-84 was widened in the 1980s, the rotary, which consisted of several directional traffic islands, was replaced by an intersection.
