VERNON, CT — The latest installment of the Picture Vernon series takes us back to the Victorian Era heyday of the mills in town.

The image comes to us from the Vernon Historical Society archives.

The Talcott Brothers built a library and "town hall" across from the factory off of Main Street in the Talcottville section of Vernon. On top of the hall was a four-sided clock tower.

The building was torn down sometime in the late 1960s, according to the Vernon Historical Society.
