VERNON, CT — The latest installment of the Picture Vernon series takes us to a quiet spot in the Rockville section of town. Rainfall this week gave a small waterfall some energy.

The zen was courtesy of the Hockanum River, where it flows between West Main and Brooklyn streets. The vantage point is behind the TKB Club.

It was quiet compared to the area a month ago when, on the river's banks, a raging fire destroyed an old factory.
