Plumber Gets Hand Caught in Pipe, Machine: Vernon Police
The man was freed after a brief period, police said.

VERNON, CT — A plumber is recovering after having his hand caught in a pipe after an accident in Tuesday morning, police said.
At approximately 11:12 Tuesday morning, Vernon police, firefighters and emergency medical crews were called to 523 Hartford Turnpike — St. John''s Episcopal Church — for a report of a man with a hand "stuck in a machine," a law enforcement spokesman said.
Responders found a plumbing contractor who was using a snake device to clean a pipe when the device broke, trapping his hand, police said.

Vernon Firefighters were able to free him him after about 10 minutes, police said.
The man was transported to Hartford Hospital by Vernon Ambulance for treatment of the hand/finger injury, which are not life-threatening, police said.
