Police, Citizens Mingle At Coffee With A Cop Event
McDonald's and the Vernon Police Department teamed up on Wednesday for the annual Coffee with a Cop Day.
VERNON, CT — McDonald's and the Vernon Police Department teamed up on Wednesday for the annual Coffee with a Cop Day.
Chief James Kenny, Capt. John Kelley and Town Administrator Michael Purcaro were on hand to mingle with members of the public.
The national one-day event is designed to bring local police officers and citizens together – over coffee – to "discuss community issues and build relationships in a safe and neutral environment."

The McDonald's at 89 Talcottville Road hosted the event.
Every year, the first Wednesday of October is deemed National Coffee with a Cop Day in the U.S.
